Champaign Unit 4 School District invites parents and guardians to visit our elementary schools and learn about the Schools of Choice student assignment process.

A Unit 4 staff member will show parents around at any elementary school on Tuesday and Thursdays in February at 9:30 a.m.

Evening Open Houses:
Join us for a tour in the evening.
Tuesday, February 5 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Barkstall, Carrie Busey, Bottenfield, International Prep Academy, Robeson and Kenwood

Thursday, February 7 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Dr. Howard, Garden Hills, South Side, Stratton, Westview and Booker T. Washington

With temperatures this week that rival the South Pole, and shut down most of our schools, many of us are looking for any kind of thaw we can get. Even if that means rainy weather is on it’s way.  No matter the freezing temps of polar vortex 2019 or the predicted pouring rain: Don’t let the weather get you down! We’ve got FREE plenty of indoor fun to be had this weekend in Champaign-Urbana!

February is Black History Month in Champaign-Urbana, and we round up events here. Gearing up for Valentine’s Day? Get your heart warm with family-friendly Valentine’s Day activities in CU. Looking for a daddy-daughter dance, mom-son prom, or family date night? We have a list of those here. Need some grown-up time in Champaign-Urbana? We’ve got a guide for that too. Lunar New Year and Chinese New Year are just around the corner.  We have a guide for that as well.  Because it’s Winter in Central Illinois, here’s our guide to Snowy Day Fun for Kids AND Rainy Day Fun. Don’t forget to save the date for our last Winter Playdate at Illini Women’s Basketball on Sunday, Feb. 10.

It’s also time to think schools for next year. See our 2019 Preschool Guide here, and our Guide to Area School Open Houses here.

Thanks again to Champaign Unit 4 School District for sponsoring Weekend Planner.
