Why you should go: Head to Downtown Champaign for free live street music including an eclectic mix of music and street performances. There will also be a special family activity every week including balloon animals, glitter tattoos, hula hooping, puppets, and much, much more. This week children can make their own buttons.
What: Follow the Farmstead
Where: Various locations in Champaign County
When: Saturday, June 11, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Why you should go: Connect with the farming community at the second annual Follow the Farmstead—an inspiring, family-friendly event dedicated to showcasing area farms.Learn what it takes to run a successful farm, both large and small. What: March for Dimes March for Babies
Where: Meadowbrook Park, Urbana
When: Saturday, June 11, 9:00- 11:00 a.m. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
How much: Free, donations accepted for March of Dimes and for teams participating in walk.
Appropriate for: All ages
Why you should go: March for Babies event for Champaign County. Families can come and enjoy an obstacle course, bounce house, face painting, and walking for healthier babies.
What: Bement’s 9th Annual Old Glory Festival
Where: Bement City Park
When: All day, Saturday, June 11
How much: Free admission, some activities ticketed, food for sale
Appropriate for: All ages
Why you should go: Check out historic Bement at this family friendly festival. Kids will love the Cricket Spittin’ Contest, Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest, Stagecoach Rides, Kiddie Tractor Pull, and Movie Night in the Park featuring Disney~Pixar The Good Dinosaur. There will also be FREE Inflatables, Petting Zoo, and Face Painting. A LEGO – Rama Event starts at 11:00 a.m. for all your LEGO maniacs.
What: Urbana Pops Plays Video Games
Where: Urbana High School Cobb Auditorium
When: Saturday, June 11, 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
How much: Free
Appropriate for: All ages
Why you should go: Kids love video games? This family-friendly concert features music from favorite video game scores. Also featured will be the two winners of an annual composition contest as well as prize drawings.
What: Summer Garden Concert Series
Where: Mabery Gelvin Botanical Garden, Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, Mahomet
When: Sunday, June 12, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
How much: Free; food and drink for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to the restoration of the Mabery Gelvin Botanical Garden

Why you should go: Finish off the weekend at beautiful Mabery-Gelvin Botanical Garden with an evening of music and fun with contemporary bluegrass string band Wildwood.
