Editor’s note: Carle is a sponsor of chambanamoms.
While you’re out shopping for your own gifts this holiday season, grab an extra gift or two for one of the thousands of Champaign County kids through age 12 who might otherwise not get a gift this year. All gifts donated go to the annual Salvation Army Toy Shop.

The Carle Toy Drive will conclude on Dec. 11. Photo courtesy Carle Foundation.
If you’re looking for inspiration for those hard-to-buy-for “tweens,” check out the videos on Carle’s Facebook page. The suggestions for 9- to 12-year-olds are silly, sweet and oh-so helpful. Please share the videos on social media so even more people help support this year’s toy drive.
To give, drop off your new, unwrapped toy or gift at any of the multiple drop-off locations in Champaign County until Dec. 11.
- Carle Tower main lobby and hospital main lobby
- All clinic locations in Champaign, Urbana, Mahomet and Rantoul
- Health Alliance at Lincoln Square
- Windsor of Savoy
- WDWS/WHMS/WKIO Radio Station
Or, stop by the All-Day Drive-Thru Toy Collection on Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Carle Champaign on Mattis. The drive-thru is the biggest opportunity for those in the community to make a donation to Carle’s drive.
Last year, Carle collected about 2,000 toys and an amazing $3,300 in money and gift cards. Let’s spread the word to those in the community to surpass that goal this year!
